How a crash game works

1. You place a bet before the round starts. Many crash games let you set an automatic cash-out multiplier at the same time.
2. The multiplier starts rising from 1.00×, usually drawn as a rocket, a plane or a line climbing a chart.
3. You cash out whenever you choose. Your payout is your stake times the multiplier at that moment.
4. The round crashes at a point that was fixed before it began. Anyone still in loses their stake.

In multiplayer crash games, everyone in the round shares the same crash point. That is what makes them social to watch — and what makes the timing feel like skill, even though the crash point was decided before anyone pressed a button.

The maths behind the curve

In the standard crash design, the chance of the multiplier reaching any value is roughly the game's return divided by that value. As a worked example, at a 99% return the round reaches 2× about 49.5% of the time and 10× about 9.9% of the time. The house edge usually shows up as a small share of rounds that crash instantly.

Multiply the payout by the chance of reaching it and you get the same number at every point: the return. Cashing out at 1.5× and cashing out at 20× are worth exactly the same on average. Two players share one balloon and take turns adding one to three pumps. Whoever pops it loses; the winner collects 1.90× their stake, the pot less a 5% rake. Crash strategies that do not work

• Martingale — doubling after every loss. A bigger bet buys the same odds at a bigger size. A losing run long enough to empty a budget is rare, but it is exactly the run that decides the outcome.
• Crash predictors. The crash point is fixed from a committed seed before the round starts. An app or bot that claims to predict it either does not work or is after your account.
• "It is due for a big one." A run of early crashes does not make the next round safer. Each round is drawn independently — the gambler's fallacy in action.
• A "safe" auto cash-out. A low automatic target wins more often and pays less each time. It changes how your results feel, not what they are worth on average.

How to check a crash game is fair

A fair crash game fixes the crash point before you bet and lets you prove it afterwards.
