Rock Paper Scissors on Gift Club is a streak game rather than a single call. Each round you throw against the house; a win doubles your standing multiplier and lets you go again, up to five rounds and a 30.40× ceiling. The wrinkle that makes it worth understanding is the tie — it does not cost you the round, it ends the game and pays out whatever you have already banked.
How to play Rock Paper Scissors
- Open Rock Paper Scissors in the Games hub. Launch Gift Club inside Telegram, open Games and pick Rock Paper Scissors.
- Set your stake. Free mode pays XP. Paid mode accepts 5, 10, 20, 50 or 100 Telegram Stars.
- Throw. Pick rock, paper or scissors. The house throw is drawn from the seeded round, so all three of your options carry identical odds.
- Win to climb. A win advances you up the ladder: 1.90×, 3.80×, 7.60×, 15.20×, then 30.40× at round five. A loss ends the game and the stake is gone.
- Cash out or continue. After each win you can bank the current multiplier or throw again. Round five pays out automatically at 30.40×.

Rock Paper Scissors pros and cons
Pros
- The tie is a push, not a loss — a third of rounds end without costing you the stake
- Doubling ladder reaches 30.40× in only five wins
- You can bank after any round, so the exit point is yours
- Free XP mode runs the same ladder, paying up to 20 XP for a five-round run
- Provably fair, with the house throw committed before you pick
Cons
- Only a third of rounds are outright wins, so long runs are genuinely rare
- No skill component at all — the house throw is random, so reading an opponent is impossible
- A tie at round zero simply returns your stake, which can feel like a wasted round
The tie rule changes the whole game
In most streak games a non-win ends the run and takes the stake. Here a tie ends the run and pays you out at the rung you had already reached. That is a meaningful difference: of the two ways a run can stop, only one costs you anything.
So each round you play from a standing position has three roughly equal outcomes: climb, bank where you are, or lose everything. Continuing is a one-in-three shot at doubling against a one-in-three shot at zero, with a one-in-three chance the decision is taken out of your hands at the current value.
A tie on the very first round, before any win, returns your stake unchanged — no gain, no loss.
When to bank
Unlike Minefield and Mines Tower, where every rung carries the same expected value, the doubling ladder here is worth thinking about concretely. Continuing risks everything banked for a chance to double it, at odds where losing is exactly as likely as winning and the tie sits between them.
In practice that makes rounds three and four the interesting decisions. Reaching 7.60× on a 100-Star stake means 760 Stars in hand; throwing again puts all of it on a one-in-three chance of reaching 1,520. Whether that is a good trade depends entirely on whether you are playing for a number or for a session, and no table can answer it for you. What helps is deciding the rung before you start rather than in the moment.
Is there any skill in it?
None. Against a human opponent Rock Paper Scissors is a genuine game of pattern-reading — people are famously bad at being random. Against a seeded draw there is nothing to read. Rock, paper and scissors are exactly equally good every round, and any sequence you play produces the same distribution of results.
If you want a game where you are actually playing against a person, that is PvP Minefield, where the opponent is another player working the same board.
Is Rock Paper Scissors provably fair?
Yes. The house throw for each round comes from a server seed committed to by hash before you make your choice, and revealed afterwards for verification. The house cannot see your throw and respond to it — its throw was already determined by the seed.
Rock Paper Scissors FAQ
What happens on a tie in Rock Paper Scissors?
A tie ends the game and pays out at the multiplier you have already reached. It is a push, not a loss — if you tie after two wins you collect 3.80×. A tie on the first round, before any wins, simply returns your stake.
What is the maximum win in Rock Paper Scissors?
30.40×, paid automatically for winning five consecutive rounds. At the 100-Star maximum bet that is 3,040 Stars. The ladder doubles each round: 1.90×, 3.80×, 7.60×, 15.20×, 30.40×.
Is there a strategy for Rock Paper Scissors on Telegram?
Not for the throw itself — the house choice is drawn from a seeded round, so rock, paper and scissors are equally good every time. The only real decision is when to bank, and the sensible approach is to pick a target rung before the run starts rather than deciding in the moment.
How likely is a five-round run?
Each round is an equal three-way split between win, tie and loss, so a run of five straight wins is roughly a 0.4% outcome. Ties ending a run at a decent multiplier are far more common than reaching the top of the ladder.
How much XP does Rock Paper Scissors pay in free mode?
The free ladder pays 1, 3, 5, 10 and 20 XP for rounds one through five, using the same rules and the same tie handling as the paid game.
Play within your limits. Paid rounds cost Telegram Stars and every game on Gift Club is built so the house keeps a margin — over enough rounds the maths runs against you, by design. Stars cannot be converted back into money. Treat paid play as entertainment you have budgeted for, set a limit before you start, and use the free XP mode whenever you just want to play. Gift Club is 18+.
