Super Bowl Squares Generator: Free Grid, Random Numbers

Updated October 8, 2026No sign-up. Runs in your browser.

This Super Bowl squares generator fills a 10 by 10 grid with your players' names, draws the numbers 0 to 9 across the top and down the side, and finds the winning square for each quarter from the teams' scores. It is free, works on a phone or a computer, and nothing you type is saved or sent anywhere. It is an unofficial tool: Super Bowl and NFL are used only to describe the game, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NFL.

    Players

Up to 100 different names. Repeats and blank lines are ignored.

Add names to see how the split works: every name gets the same number of squares, and any that do not divide evenly stay open.

    Or tap squares by hand

    Type some names above first.

    Numbers

Draw once the grid is full, so nobody can pick a square by its number. It gives each column and each row a digit from 0 to 9 and cannot be redrawn.

    Quarter results

Enter each team's total score at the end of the quarter, not the points scored in it. The winning square matches the last digit of each score.

How to make a Super Bowl squares grid

    1. Type the player names, one per line. Each name can be a person, a pair or a family.
    2. Press Fill randomly to give every name the same number of squares in random places, or pick a name and tap squares to give them out by hand.
    3. Type the two team names once they are known, then press Draw numbers when the grid is full. The digits 0 to 9 are placed across the top and down the side and then locked.
    4. Print the grid, or press Copy as text to paste it into a group chat.
    5. At the end of each quarter and at the final whistle, type both teams' total scores. The winning square and its name appear in the table and on the grid.

How do Super Bowl squares work?

Super Bowl squares is a game for a group that needs no football knowledge. A grid has 10 columns and 10 rows, so 100 squares, and each square holds a name. One team is written across the top and the other down the side. Once the squares are taken, the digits 0 to 9 are placed on the columns in random order and on the rows in a second random order. That is why the numbers are drawn after the grid is full: nobody can pick a square for its digits.

Then you watch the game. At the end of each quarter, take each team's total score and keep only its last digit. A score of 17 becomes 7, 30 becomes 0 and 3 stays 3. Find the column that carries the across team's digit and the row that carries the other team's digit. The name where they cross is that quarter's winner. A 0 to 0 game therefore points at the column and row marked 0, and the same square can win more than once. Agree before kickoff how many of the four results count and whether the final score includes overtime; the generator uses whichever final score you type.

How are the squares split between players?

Fill randomly gives every name the same number of squares: 100 divided by the number of names, rounded down. Four names get 25 each, ten names get 10 each, and seven names get 14 each. Squares that do not divide evenly stay open, so seven names leave two open, and three names leave one. Nobody gets an extra, and an open square shows the word “open”. An open square can still come up as a quarter's winning square, so decide before the game what happens then.

If you want one person to hold more squares than the others, tap by hand: choose their name and tap as many squares as the group agreed.

    When is Super Bowl LXI?

Super Bowl LXI is scheduled for Sunday 14 February 2027 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, according to the NFL and the Los Angeles host committee, and it is scheduled for ABC and ESPN in the US. The date is also Valentine's Day. This page leaves out the kickoff time until the NFL confirms it. The two teams are not known until the conference championship games in late January, which is why the team names above start as “Team A” and “Team B” and can be changed later without redrawing the numbers.

How do I run squares in a group chat or an office?

Put the names in, press Fill randomly and share the result with Copy as text, which pastes the grid inside a code block so the columns stay lined up in Telegram and most other chats. Draw the numbers while everyone is watching, on a video call or a shared screen, so the draw is seen to be fair, and paste the grid again once the digits are locked. For an office, Print grid opens a one-page landscape grid you can pin to a wall or a fridge. Our list of games to play over text has more formats for a group chat, and if the party needs a second game, the bingo card generator and the tambola ticket generator make cards in a click.

    Frequently asked questions

Is this Super Bowl squares generator free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no payment, and it runs in your browser on a phone or a computer.

How many squares does each person get?

With Fill randomly, every name gets 100 divided by the number of names, rounded down, in random places. Squares left over stay open. By hand, you can give a name as many squares as your group agreed.

When should I draw the numbers?

After the grid is full. Then nobody can choose a square for its digits, because the digits do not exist yet. The button also works before the grid is full if you need it to.

    Can I redraw the numbers?

Not once they are locked. Start a new pool to clear the squares, the numbers and the scores, and your names and team labels stay.

How does the page find the winner of a quarter?

Type each team's total score at the end of the quarter. The last digit of the across team's score picks the column, the last digit of the other team's score picks the row, and the name where they meet wins that quarter.

    Does overtime count?

Agree that before the game. The generator uses the final score you type, so enter the score you want to count.

Can I use it for other games?

Yes. Any game with two scores works the same way, from a college game to a championship final: change the team names and use the same grid.

Do you save my names or my grid?

No. Names, squares, numbers and scores exist only on the open page and are gone when you reload or close it. Print or copy the grid to keep it.

Is this tool from the NFL?

No. It is an unofficial tool, not affiliated with or endorsed by the NFL. Super Bowl and NFL are used only to describe the game it is made for.
