As of October 27, 2026 there are three ways to get Gram (TON, formerly Toncoin). Buy it from Walt in Telegram, by P2P (no Walt fee) or by card through Mercuryo or Alchemy Pay. Buy it on an exchange that lists GRAM/USDT, such as Binance, Bybit, OKX, Gate or KuCoin, and withdraw it to a TON wallet. Or receive it from someone who already has it. Money, Telegram's own wallet, does not sell Gram; it hands you off to Walt.

How do you buy Gram in Telegram with Walt?

Open Walt (@walt), the custodial wallet bot in Telegram that was called Wallet until September 28, 2026, and buy GRAM with P2P or a card. Walt's help page (updated October 20, 2026) says P2P purchases carry no Walt fee, while card purchases go through Mercuryo and Alchemy Pay, whose own fees Walt does not publish.

    1. Open @walt and finish the verification it asks for. Walt holds the account for you, so it checks who you are before you trade.
    2. Pick the buy route. In vc.ru's walkthrough of the bot from June 30, 2026 (before the rename), P2P sat under Crypto, Top up, P2P Market. Menu names change between versions, so follow the labels you see.
    3. Choose Buy, then GRAM, your currency and the amount. The app shows the minimum and, for a card, the provider's total before you confirm.
    4. For P2P, pick a seller with a good reputation and pay the exact amount by the method listed. Add no comment to the payment, then upload the receipt in the chat. The same vc.ru guide gives these steps.
    5. For a card, pay through Mercuryo or Alchemy Pay. The Gram lands on your Walt balance.
    6. Move it to a wallet you control. Withdrawal from Walt to an external wallet has a minimum of 0.1 and a fee of 0.05, so buy a little more than you plan to send.

To move Gram to Money, open Money, tap Add Funds, choose Buy with cash or crypto, then Deposit from Walt. Walt said on October 15, 2026 that the transfer is instant with no network fee.

How do you buy Gram on an exchange and withdraw it?

Buy GRAM on a spot market and withdraw it on the TON network to your own wallet address. CoinGecko lists GRAM/USDT on Binance, Bybit, OKX, Gate and KuCoin as of October 27, 2026.

    1. Fund the account in USDT (or any currency the exchange converts for you).
    2. Open the GRAM/USDT pair, choose Buy and place a market order. Exchanges may show the coin as "Gram (prev. Toncoin)".
    3. Withdraw GRAM and choose the TON network. Paste your wallet address, which starts with UQ or EQ. A memo or tag is not needed for a personal wallet; it matters only when you send to an exchange or another service that asks for one.
    4. Send a small test amount first. A blockchain transfer cannot be reversed, and a wrong network loses the coins.

The exchange sets its own withdrawal fee and minimum, so read them on its withdrawal screen. An exchange also keeps the coins until you withdraw them, the same way Walt does.

Can you buy Gram if you live in India or Nigeria?

Probably, but check that Walt opens for you first. Dropstab's August 16, 2026 report lists the US, the UK and most of the EU as restricted and describes most emerging markets as open, while other coverage names more blocked places. If Walt opens and lets you pick GRAM, you can use P2P with local-currency offers (the app shows which currencies it supports). If not, an exchange that accepts your country and lists GRAM/USDT is the second route. Use a local exchange only if you can see GRAM on its market list before you deposit.

What if Walt is not available where you live?

Use an exchange that serves your country and withdraw to a TON wallet, or ask someone with Gram to send it. Dropstab reported on August 16, 2026 that Walt is restricted in the US, the UK and most of the EU (Germany, Italy and Spain are allowed). Do not try to get around a block with a VPN.

Where do you keep Gram after you buy it?

Keep it in a wallet whose keys you control for anything you plan to hold, and in Walt only while you trade. The options, all holding the same Gram on the same blockchain:

    • Money, Telegram's non-custodial wallet. Its section appears in the account after someone sends you a transfer (Walt, October 9, 2026). It receives Gram; it does not sell it.
    • Walt, where you bought it. Custodial: Walt holds the keys.
    • Tonkeeper, a standalone self-custodial TON wallet app.
    • The Gram Wallet app, a standalone self-custodial wallet from gramwallet.io.

The comparison, with custody and rollout for each, is in Gram Wallet in Telegram Is Now Money, and the step-by-step for a self-custodial wallet is in How to Set Up a TON Wallet for Telegram Gifts.

What can you do with Gram once you have it?

Inside Telegram, Gram pays for gifts and collectible usernames (in Money and on Fragment), and Mini Apps that accept TON Connect take it too. The full list is in What Can You Do With Gram in Telegram?.

One of those apps is Gift Club, a Telegram Mini App for adults (18+). As of October 27, 2026 you connect Walt or Tonkeeper through TON Connect and deposit from 1. Gram buys four boxes, from Geode at 1 to Whale at 10, and takes stakes from 0.1 in 28 games. Every Gram round, box and scratch card is provably fair, and each prize's chance shows in the app on the box. Gram is the balance you play with in the app. What a player claims is a prize: a Telegram gift to their profile or an NFT to their TON wallet. The app is in English. Which Gram buying scams should you avoid?

    • "Swap TON for GRAM" and "activate your GRAM". The official TON channel warned on June 1, 2026: "Any site, bot, or link asking you to 'claim GRAM' or 'migrate TON' is a scam." The rename needed no action, so nobody has anything to swap or activate.
    • Paying Gram to "release" something. No wallet, exchange or bot needs a payment in Gram before it hands back your balance, your account or a prize.
    • Support that asks for your secret words. Telegram support never asks for them, and neither does Walt, a wallet app or an exchange.
    • Look-alike bots and P2P sellers who ask you to leave the app. Pay only inside the Walt P2P flow, never to a stranger who messages you first.
    • Prices far below the market. At $1.23 a GRAM, an offer of half that is bait.

Is Gram the same as Toncoin, and which network do I withdraw on?

Yes. Toncoin was renamed Gram, ticker GRAM, on June 15, 2026, on the same blockchain. Withdraw on the TON network to an address that starts with UQ or EQ. No swap is needed, and anyone offering one is running a scam.
