Telegram has no Stars to Gram exchange. Stars you bought stay Stars, and Telegram's terms forbid selling or withdrawing them. As of October 27, 2026, three routes work around that. Stars you earned as a channel or bot owner are withdrawn through Fragment and paid in Gram (TON). Gram buys Stars the other way. And in Gift Club you can win an NFT with Stars and swap it for Gram.
Quick answer: which route fits you?
As of October 27, 2026:
| What you have or want | Route | Rate or limit |
|---|---|---|
| Stars you bought, want Gram | No exchange exists | Telegram's terms: no selling, withdrawing or transferring |
| Stars you earned (channel, bot, Star Messages) | Withdraw through Fragment, paid in Gram | After 21 days, at $0.013 a Star |
| Gram, want Stars | Fragment | $0.015 a Star, paid in Gram (checked October 14, 2026) |
| Gram, want Stars, no ID check | Getgems | No KYC, per its help centre (updated September 6, 2026) |
| Stars, want Gram in Gift Club | Win an NFT, then swap it for Gram in the app | A prize, not a rate: each box shows its prizes' chances |
Can you convert Telegram Stars to Gram?
No, not as an exchange. Telegram's Stars terms say you may not sell, withdraw or transfer Stars from your personal balance, and every sale is final, so there is no button that turns a Stars balance into Gram. Gram is the coin of the TON blockchain, renamed from Toncoin on June 15, 2026, and Stars are an in-app balance, so Stars never touch the chain. The routes below do not convert your Stars. They pay Gram for something else you hold or earn.
Can you sell Stars you bought?
No, and the nearest workaround is risky. Stars bought in the app, in a Telegram bot or on Fragment can be spent only inside Telegram. The full list of what can leave is in Can You Sell Telegram Stars for Money?.
The only indirect path inside Telegram is to spend Stars on a collectible gift and sell the gift instead of the Stars. On Telegram's marketplace a seller keeps 90% of a price in Gram (client config read October 26, 2026), and the price of a gift can fall, so you may get back less than you paid. The steps are in How to Sell Telegram Gifts.
How do earned Stars become Gram?
Through Fragment, if you own the channel or bot that earned them. Telegram pays creators' Stars rewards through Fragment after 21 days, at the equivalent of $0.013 a Star, and the withdrawal goes to a TON wallet in Gram. The steps, as Telegram's documentation gives them:
- Open the Stars balance of the channel or bot you own. Only the owner can withdraw.
- Wait until the Stars are 21 days old. Newer Stars stay locked.
- Start a withdrawal. Telegram opens a Fragment page and asks for the address of your TON wallet. Telegram sets a minimum and a maximum per withdrawal and does not publish them.
- Confirm. The reward arrives in Gram. If you do not have a wallet yet, start with Gram Wallet and Money.
At $0.013 a Star, 1,000 earned Stars come to about $13, paid at the day's Gram rate. The same Star costs $0.015 to buy on Fragment, so buying Stars in order to withdraw them loses money by design.
How do you turn Gram into Stars?
Three places take Gram for Stars: Telegram's own Fragment, the independent Getgems marketplace, and Gift Club:
- Fragment sells Stars for Gram at a flat $0.015 a Star (checked October 14, 2026). That is below the US App Store's about $0.020 a Star. Current pack prices are in Telegram Stars Price.
- Getgems sells Stars to any Telegram username. You pay from a connected wallet in GRAM or USDT, and its help centre says there is no KYC (article updated September 6, 2026). A separate Getgems page tops up a Telegram account's Gram balance, which is a different balance from Stars.
- Gift Club takes Gram for its own balance. A top-up in Gram gives 90 Stars per GRAM and adds 5% more Stars on top. These are Gift Club's in-app Stars, not a Telegram Stars purchase for your account.

Is there a way from Stars to Gram inside Gift Club?
Sometimes, by winning one prize, never by a fixed rate. Gift Club's boxes and scratch cards open with Stars, and some prizes are NFT gifts with a value in Gram. When you win one, the app offers two things. You can swap it for Gram, which lands in your Gram balance in the app, the balance you play with; a swap needs an NFT worth at least 1. Or you can send it to your TON wallet from Gifts & NFTs, where you can hold it, or sell it on a TON marketplace and be paid in Gram.
What you win depends on the box, and opening one is not an exchange. Each prize's chance is shown on the box before you open it, and every box and card is provably fair, so you can check a draw in the provably fair checker. A Telegram gift you win goes to your Telegram profile instead.

What are the Stars to TON scams?
Any service that offers to convert your bought Stars into Gram is selling something Telegram does not allow, so you have no protection if it does not pay. The usual shapes:
- "Stars to TON exchangers" in bots and chats that quote a rate and ask you to send Stars or gifts first. Once the Stars leave your balance, nothing comes back.
- Bots that want Stars up front as a "verification" or "network fee" before a Gram payout.
- Fake "claim GRAM" or "swap TON for GRAM" pages. The official TON channel warned on June 1, 2026 that the rename needed no action from anyone. See Toncoin is now Gram.
The test is the same for all of them. A real route pays for something you earned (a channel, a bot), sells you Stars for Gram, or is an app you can open and check. More patterns are in Telegram Stars scams.
