- Find each word on the list. Drag across its letters, or tap the first letter and then the last.
- A found word is struck off the list and its letters stay highlighted.

Easy, medium and hard
- Easy: a 10 by 10 grid with 8 words, running left to right and top to bottom. Good for young children.
- Medium: a 12 by 12 grid with 12 words. Words can also run diagonally upwards or downwards to the right.
- Hard: a 15 by 15 grid with 16 words in all eight directions, so a word can run backwards, upwards or diagonally to the left.
Words can cross where they share a letter. Each puzzle picks its words from a list of 61 Christmas words, so you will not see the same grid twice.
How do I print a Christmas word search?
Press Print puzzle and answers. A new page opens with only the puzzle and its word list, then the answer key on the next page with every word marked. Choose your printer or save it as a PDF from the print window. The puzzle on the screen is the one that prints, so find the grid you like first. To print a different one, press New puzzle and print again.
Can I add my own words?
Yes. Under the buttons, type one word or phrase per line. You need at least 5 and can use up to 24. Each word must be at least 3 letters, A to Z only, and no longer than the grid is wide (10, 12 or 15 letters). Spaces and hyphens are dropped inside the grid but stay on the list, so “Candy cane” is hidden as CANDYCANE. Names of the family, places, gift ideas or a school class make a puzzle for one group. If the words are too many or too long to fit, the page says so and keeps the Christmas list; try a bigger grid or fewer words.
