You can't sell Telegram Stars you bought: Telegram's terms forbid selling, withdrawing or transferring Stars from your personal balance, and every purchase is final. Stars you earn are different. Channel owners, bot owners and people paid in Star Messages can withdraw earned Stars on Fragment as Gram (TON), 21 days after they arrive.
Which Stars can be cashed out?
As of 2 October 2026, per Telegram's terms:
| Where the Stars came from | Can you withdraw them? |
|---|---|
| You bought them in the app, @PremiumBot or on Fragment | No. Spend them inside Telegram only |
| Paid posts, subscriptions or reactions in your channel | Yes, on Fragment, after 21 days |
| Sales in your bot or Mini App | Yes, on Fragment, after 21 days |
| Star Messages (people paying to message you) | Yes, on Fragment, after 21 days |
| Gifts you converted to Stars | Under the creator terms, where they apply |
Why can't you sell Stars you bought?
Telegram's Stars terms say you may not sell, withdraw, transfer or use Stars in your personal balance for anything the terms don't list, and that all sales are final. Stars are a way to pay for digital goods inside Telegram, not a balance you can cash out. Sites and bots that offer to "buy your Stars" sit outside those rules, and you have no protection if they don't pay. See Telegram Stars scams for how those offers usually go.
How do you withdraw earned Stars to TON?
- Open the balance of the channel or bot that earned the Stars. Only its owner can withdraw.
- Wait until the Stars are 21 days old. Newer Stars stay locked.
- Start a withdrawal. Telegram opens a Fragment page for it, and there is a minimum and a maximum per withdrawal.
- Enter the address of your TON wallet. The reward arrives in Gram. See Gram wallet if you don't have one.

How much is a Star worth when you withdraw it?
Telegram's content creator terms say paid content earns the equivalent of $0.013 for each Star. So 1,000 earned Stars come to about $13, paid in Gram at the day's rate. Buying a Star costs roughly $0.013 to $0.020, so buying Stars to withdraw them can't come out ahead, even on the cheapest pack. Current pack prices are in Telegram Stars Price.
There is a better rate if you spend instead of withdrawing: for Telegram Ads, each Star in the balance counts as $0.02 of ad credit. Earned Stars stay valid for 3 years.
Can you sell gifts instead?
Yes, collectible gifts can be sold for Stars or TON on Telegram's gift marketplace, and since December 2025 people can make offers on gifts shown on your profile. That is selling a gift, not Stars. The steps are in How to Sell Telegram Gifts.
