What is Fragment?
Fragment is the platform Telegram built to sell the things that live on the blockchain side of Telegram. Pavel Durov announced it on 26 October 2022 as the place where collectible usernames are auctioned, and it has since added anonymous phone numbers, Telegram Premium and Telegram Stars. It runs on The Open Network (TON), the chain Telegram's wallet and gifts use, and takes payment in that chain's coin, Gram, which was called Toncoin until 15 June 2026 (the rename explained). A username or number you buy there is a collectible you assign to an account, a channel or a group, and can sell again on the same site.
Fragment is not a wallet and not an exchange: it holds no Gram for you and sells none. You bring Gram in a wallet of your own, and the site only takes the payment. That is also why it has no fiat prices to charge: Premium and Stars are listed in dollars, and the Gram amount shown beside them follows the market at the moment you pay.
What does Fragment sell?
- Collectible usernames. Short or memorable usernames, sold at auction or by their current owner. A username on Fragment is an NFT on TON, so owning it is owning the token, and it can be assigned to any account, channel or group you control. Details in Buy a Telegram Username: How Fragment Works.
- Anonymous +888 numbers. Virtual numbers with no SIM and no country, used to sign up to Telegram without a phone. They launched on 6 December 2022; the first batch sold out that month, so what you buy today comes from another owner's listing.
- Telegram Premium. Prepaid 3, 6 or 12 months for yourself or as a gift, at a list price in dollars that is the same in every country.
- Telegram Stars. Stars for your own account or a friend's, at a flat $0.015 a Star from 50 Stars, with no store fee in the price.
How do you log in to Fragment?
- Connect TON links a wallet through TON Connect (Tonkeeper, Walt and other TON wallets). You need it to bid, buy or pay for anything.
- Connect Telegram opens a confirmation in your Telegram app. You need it to assign a username or number to your account and to buy Premium or Stars for it.
Fragment never asks for your Telegram password, your login code or your wallet's secret words. A site that does is a copy of Fragment, not Fragment: check the address bar reads fragment.com before you connect anything.
How much does Telegram Premium cost on Fragment?
| Duration | Fragment, 28 October 2026 | Gift with Stars |
|---|---|---|
| 3 months | $11.99 ≈ 9.62 GRAM | 1,000 Stars |
| 6 months | $15.99 ≈ 12.84 GRAM | 1,500 Stars |
| 12 months | $28.99 ≈ 23.28 GRAM | 2,500 Stars |
The yearly plan is where Fragment beats the stores: $28.99 for 12 months against $35.99 in the US App Store and 39,99 € in Germany, and the price is the same wherever you are. Enter the username the subscription is for, pick a duration and confirm in your wallet. The full country comparison is in Telegram Premium Price by Country.

How much do Telegram Stars cost on Fragment?
$0.015 a Star, flat, from 50 Stars: 500 Stars cost $7.50 and 1,000 Stars $15, against $9.99 for 500 in the US App Store, because Apple's and Google's share is not in the price. You can buy them for your own account or send them to a friend's, and the Stars arrive in Telegram like any other pack. The buying routes side by side are in How to Buy Telegram Stars.
How do Fragment username auctions work?
- Search the name. A name nobody holds goes to auction at a minimum bid Fragment sets; a held name shows its owner's asking price or nothing, if it isn't for sale.
- Bid in Gram from your connected wallet. An auction runs 7 days, and a bid near the end extends the clock, so sniping doesn't work.
- Win, and the username is minted to your wallet as an NFT on TON. Assign it to an account, channel or group from Fragment, or list it for resale, where Fragment takes 5% of the sale.
Is Fragment safe and legit?
Fragment is Telegram's own site, announced by Telegram and linked from Telegram's blog, so the platform itself is legitimate. The risks are around it: lookalike domains, "Fragment support" accounts that message you first, and sellers who want to settle outside the site. Keep three rules. Pay only on fragment.com with your own wallet; never share a login code or seed phrase with anyone; and remember that every purchase is final, so check the username, the number and the duration before you confirm.
Fragment and Gift Club: Stars for Gram, two ways
Fragment is the cheapest place to buy Telegram Stars outright, and the same Gram goes further inside Gift Club, a Telegram Mini App of boxes, scratch cards and mini-games whose prizes are real Telegram gifts and NFTs. Its in-app Stars balance is topped up with Gram at 90 Stars per GRAM: ★500 is 5.56 GRAM, about $6.89 at Gram's price of $1.24 on October 28, 2026 (CoinGecko), which is $0.0138 a Star, under Fragment's $0.015 and 31% under the US App Store. That balance plays in the app and is never a Telegram Star: Gift Club sells no Stars and no Premium. What a player claims is a prize, a Telegram gift to their profile or an NFT to their TON wallet.
