How do you play dice in a Telegram chat?

Send 🎲 as the only thing in a message. The die tumbles and shows its number, and tapping the finished die offers a new roll. Telegram's own 2020 announcement pitched it as a certified random number and a tiebreaker when a poll or a debate ends level. To roll for a whole group, each player sends one die and you compare. For other dice, the dice roller on this site rolls up to several dice outside Telegram.

What dice games can you play with the emoji?

One die is only a number, so a rule makes it a game. These three are not the ones in Telegram games for 2:

• Closest to 21. On your turn, keep sending dice and adding the numbers up. Stop whenever you like. Go over 21 and you are out; otherwise the highest total under 21 wins.
• Pig. On your turn, keep rolling and adding up. A 1 wipes your turn and passes the die, and you can bank your total at any time. First to 50 banked wins.
• Over or under 7. Before each turn, call whether the total of two dice will be over, under or exactly 7. Seven is the most common total, because six of the 36 pairs make it.

Keep every roll in the chat in the order sent. A deleted roll is the only way to cheat the die.

Are there dice bots for Telegram?

Yes, in three kinds: bots that roll for you with a command (often with modifiers for tabletop games), bots that host a game and keep score, and bots that wrap stakes around a roll. The first two are harmless. For the third, check who runs the bot, what it says it pays and whether the roll comes from Telegram's dice or from the bot itself, which you cannot verify. Dice Duel is. You roll two dice against the house, both totals are compared, and a win pays more the wider the margin: 1.4× for a margin of one or two, up to 3.95× for seven or more. A tie returns your stake.
