Telegram doesn't publish a full list of the doubled limits on its website, so check the @Premium channel for the exact figures rather than trusting an article, this one included.
What stays free without Premium?
Everything that existed before Premium launched: unlimited cloud storage, large groups and channels, voice and video calls, multiple devices and accounts, and tens of thousands of stickers. Telegram also says future updates will keep adding features for everyone.
Some Premium features even reach people who haven't subscribed. Anyone can download files above 2 GB that a Premium user uploads, watch premium sticker animations, and tap an exclusive reaction that a subscriber has already added. There are no restrictions on chatting between Premium and free users.
Is Telegram Premium worth it?
It depends on which limit you keep hitting. Premium is worth it if:
- You send or download big files. The 4 GB upload limit is the one hard, measurable gain: the free limit is 2 GB, per Telegram's launch post.
- You read voice messages and foreign-language channels. Voice-to-text and real-time translation save time every day.
- You hate ads in big channels. Premium hides Telegram's own Sponsored Messages. It doesn't hide promotions a channel admin posts themselves.
- You run a channel. A paying subscriber gets 4 boosts to give to channels, per Telegram's giveaways post.
It isn't worth it if you only want to chat, join groups and use bots: that's all free. The stickers, emoji and badge are cosmetic. Telegram also says the badge is currently visible to everyone next to your name.

What happens to Premium features when the subscription ends?
You keep access until the end of the paid period. After that Telegram revokes the extras, as of 30 September 2026:
